We are full of birthdays around here in this month of May! Did you see my husband’s 50th here? That was such a blast! Then, our youngest son had the big 1-8 right after! Definitely some milestone birthdays happening! So let’s get our ombre on and throw an Ombre 18th Birthday Party shall we?
The inspiration for this party was his favorite color green! We were having a pool party so I wanted to incorporate aqua blue to mimic the color of pool water. What better way to do that then go with an ombre style theme. Along with lots of green balloons, garlands and paper lanterns, we were ready to party in the pool for the night. I love how it turned out! Our local Reasor’s Grocery store makes amazing birthday cakes. They did a fabulous job on this yummy chocolate layered cake! I made the “18” cake toppers out of cardboard numbers I bought at Hobby Lobby and then spray painted them an ombre look. The letters were pretty tall standing at approx 10″ inches. They are mounted on wooden dowel rods with hot glue, then slid into the top to float above the cake a bit. The food tent cards are part of the Ombre “Oh Hey 18” Party collection you can find here. These tent cards are so versatile and can be used for anything! You can also purchase as a single item here.
Landen LOVES cookie cake so I had to get one of those at Reasor’s for the birthday boy too! I really think the cake was for me mostly! LOL! This cookie was so big! It was thick too! This “Oh Hey” Banner is a favorite of mine! I like the vibe it gives with the theme. Casually welcoming “18” and saying “let’s hang out”. Reminds me of my son’s personality! All these pieces can be found in the collection above but here it is if you love just the banner!
Popsicles on ice were a huge hit! I couldn’t keep them stocked.
Loving the “Oh Hey” 18 print on the table as a centerpiece! Check it out here.
As party favors, I had lots of fun pins the kids could take to remember the evening by. It also happened to be the first day of all the kids’ summer vacation. They were excited to kick off summer for both reasons! These pins were so cute with super cute different sayings on them that was “teen language”! They were found at Michael’s in their dollar bins.
Landen wanted a photo booth for all to take fun pics. Mission accomplished!
I would say by the judge of that smile it was a fun night!
Actually by looking at all these smiles that makes this mama’s heart very happy!
Can’t believe my baby is 18! Crazy how time flies!
